1. What Kiacert does
Kiacert lets organisers of events, trainings and courses upload a certificate design and a list of people, generate a certificate for each person, send it by email, and give each certificate a public verification page reached by its ID or QR code.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18, or have permission from the organisation you act for.
- Keep access to your email or Google account secure. Anything done from your account is your responsibility.
- One person or organisation should not open several accounts to collect extra free units.
3. What you are responsible for
You are the issuer of every certificate you create. That means:
- You only issue certificates you are entitled to issue, for events, trainings or courses that really took place, to people who really took part.
- You have the right to use the designs, logos, signatures and fonts you upload, and the names of any organisations shown on them.
- You have a lawful reason to give us your attendees' details and to email them their certificates, as required by the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and any other law that applies to you. Our privacy policy explains our part.
- The information on each certificate is accurate. If you find a mistake, you can revoke the certificate and issue a new one.
4. What you may not do
- Create fake, misleading or forged certificates, or certificates that pretend to come from someone else.
- Send email to people who did not attend, or use Kiacert to send marketing or unrelated messages.
- Upload anything unlawful, hateful, or that infringes someone else's rights.
- Try to guess certificate IDs, overload the service, get around limits, or access accounts or data that are not yours.
If we believe an account breaks these rules we may pause it (runs, emails and purchases stop while you can still download your work), revoke certificates that are clearly fraudulent, or close the account. Where we can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond first.
5. Units and payment
- One unit makes one certificate. Prices are shown in naira on the pricing page and charged through Paystack.
- New accounts receive free units once. Some new accounts are checked by hand before the free units are added.
- Units do not expire while your account is open. They have no cash value and cannot be transferred.
- Units are returned automatically when a certificate cannot be made. Our refund policy covers money back for purchases.
6. Verification pages
Each certificate has a public page that shows the person's name, the event, the issuer and the date, and lets anyone with the ID download the certificate. This is what makes certificates checkable, so it is part of the service. Email addresses are never shown. Revoked certificates say so. Deleting a run removes its pages.
7. Your content
You keep all rights to your designs and lists. You give us permission to store, process and display them only as needed to run Kiacert for you, including showing certificates on their verification pages.
8. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep Kiacert running and your data safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. Keep your own copy of anything important, such as the downloads of each run. We may change or improve features. If we make a change that affects you significantly, we will tell you by email or in the app.
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, Kiacert is provided as it is, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits or reputation. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Ending your account
You can stop using Kiacert at any time and ask us to delete your account by emailing support@kiacert.com. Deleting your account removes your runs and their verification pages. Unused purchased units are handled under the refund policy.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If something goes wrong, please contact us first; most problems are solved quickly that way. If we cannot agree, the courts of Nigeria will decide.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant we will tell you at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use Kiacert after that means you accept the new terms.
